The Parker branch starts with Ellen Parker(277), who married William Currer(276) at Bingley, Yorks., on 29 Sep 1617.
The entry for Ellen Parker(277) in the Currer pedigree drawn up by Foster reads:
Ellen, daughter of Bryen Parker, of Browsholme, co. Lancaster, buried 8 March 1643/44. Visit. 1666.
There is also an entry in Paver's Marriage Licences for 1617 for the marriage with William Currer which gives Bingley as Ellen's parish at the time. A footnote indicates that William Currer was of Skipton, and was buried there 27 Feb 1643/44 and that Ellen was also buried at Skipton on 8 Mar 1643/44. These dates agree with the burial entries in the Skipton parish register, as transcribed by Stavert (1894).
If Ellen Parker married in 1617 then she was probably born towards the end of the 16th century. There is an IGI entry for the baptism of an Ellen Parker, daughter of Brian Parker, at Clitheroe on 14 Apr 1587. This is a promising entry, as Brian Parker was said to be of Browsholme, and Browsholme Hall (still in the hands of the Parker family) is only about 6 km northwest of Clitheroe. However, the Parker's say that there is no Brian Parker in their family tree. It remains to be seen whether I can get any further with this line.
